I love this book a whole bunch, except when some big teenagers are being bad and are being whipped by a black snake whip (by the not super-firm teacher). Almanzo almost got whipped when he went into the pen where they kept the horses. When he was older, his Dad gave him a small logging sled! He helped his father haul logs that were already cut. Sometimes, his oxes were not being steady and they fell in the ditch and his sled fell over. You'll have to read the book to find more out about Farmer Boy. I think you should buy this book so you can read it over and over. It taught me to obey and it was fun because the kids were sometimes goofy, but not in too silly of a way. It was a very exciting book!
