Reformation Night
October 31, 2009
Every year, on October 31, we celebrate the day that Martin Luther nailed the 95 theses on the church door and—in a way—began the Protestant Reformation. We like to dress up in costumes from the time period (at least resembling something from the 12th to 15th centuries). I finally managed to make costumes for the kids this year!
Candy is a big part of this day for us, too.
We put together activities that teach the kids (theoretically) about whatever Reformer we are honoring that evening.
Who wouldn't enjoy an evening involving princesses, knights (in good old dollar store armor), peasants, kilts, and Joan of Arc?
Aren't we cute? The judges thought so and awarded us the Best Family award.
